Anyone ever had any strength issues with welded LCAs in their small Ford? eg welded for rose joints or custom modifications, looks to be done in many applications. Asking for a club rally car so not driven or registered for road use.
Thanks,

Next time you wince at the price of any panel or part for your car, think of the sanity or insanity people are paying for RUST-RIDDEN SCRAP METAL being passed off as a "Project" or "Restorable" and other choice adjectives.............this one forced me to highlight a case in point: A UC 1978 Torana which was never available as a V8 from memory, but no matter, as this is going for $4,000.oo with NO Engine or Tranny...........described as a rolling shell with Panels, Trim and Upholstery missing, as well as much metal missing! ........to be clear, I love all cars regardless of Make n Model, but most people in 2017, inc myself, would think one would have to be young, well endowed financially as well as testicular, be very knowledgable in welding/panel-beating, and have much spare time on their hands, before taking on such a "mission impossible". Panels, parts, and trim in any form, are rarer than rocking horse doo-doos, and if found, are moon-money...........in my humble opinion !

Hi All.
My neighbour brought this home this weekend - heard this had been left in a shed for a few years, tracked down the owner and took nearly 2 years to convince him to part with it. Very good price but needed a good clean up, just needs a bit of TLC to bring it up to spec. For those of you not up with our big brothers this is the last of the AU series - a TE50, hand built V8 and some performance goodies, certainly saved the best for the last, I always thought the earlier models the ugliest car that Ford produced. You would appreciate this one , Drew, You have one of these, in blue?? Len

Do we have any forum members who live in Newcastle / Hunter valley area. Was interested to find out if Hunter Valley street Machine club still exists. Found an old reference but didn't go anywhere. Cheers Len

Hi All,
Is anyone having ongoing logging in difficulties?
Classic Ford website system rejects my user name and password.
Only got on because I joined as new member.

G'day all,
Attended the End Of Days car show today... it seem like the end of days when a armagedon storm/ thunder cloud rolled over, all was good in the end, chamios out and blue skys from then on.
It was a Ford-Holden event to mark the end of local production. The Holdens far out numbered the Fords but they were all parked well away so no rust spread to our side, lol.
Small Fords were scarce but I did get to have a good look at the blue Mk1 Estate thats for sale and the old Cortina won best Ford survivor... straight to the 'pool room' with that one.
Cheers Drew.

Looks like there's a new grass roots rally cross championship trying to get off the ground and it has a class for Escorts its called RXAus. Vic rally champion Michael Conway and his Mk2 are the headline act for the 2wd class, there's a write up about it on speedcafe. Lets hope they get the support they need to make it sustainable
