There's been a few posts recently about parts that are difficult to source and it gave me an idea.
We all probably have lists of various parts we need, but what's the one thing you've not been able to find, the one holy grail of unobtainium that you always wish for is listed as "'buy it now" on ebay but never is?
Maybe it's available, but you'd prefer to send your kid to uni.
Maybe if we know the one item, like a 3000 V6 badge someones might be chasing for instance, they might be spotted up at a local garage sale or swap meet.
So for a bit of fun, rules are one item only to start with, and perhaps post a price you'd go to if you think it'd help.
This is going to be mine for a fair while I think, possibly not as hard to find as some other parts, but haven't seen an affordable good one, RS2000 wheel:

Hi everyone I'm new to the forums and getting ready to start my own project a !979 Mk2 Escort Ghia 2.0L Auto which was my first car I bought back in December 2005 and taken off the road in 2011.
I'm finally ready to start making her beautiful again i don't know much about cars so any advice is welcomed.

I visited a large wrecking yard in western Sydney a few days ago.
After a few minutes of walking around rows and rows of dead cars it dawned on me that most of the cars there were much better than the old cars I own and struggle to keep running.
One car in particular drew my attention was an FG Falcon XR6 probably only 6 or so years old in the gorgeous light metallic blue colour. I walked around it wondering what on earth it was doing there. Not a mark on the paint which was glistening in the early morning sun. Finally realised the drivers front guard had a slight dint on it which could have been easily been removed and repaired in a few hours. There was no apparent structural damage. Even the air bags had not gone off.
On the windscreen was a large notice saying this car was a statuary write off in NSW and all states of Australia.
I can't get my head around why such a car was considered a write off, and of no value except in parts......
And why old car enthusiasts spend thousands of dollars and thousands of hours on the old cars struggling to keep them going.
Seems weird that the newer (and better) cars retain very little dollar value after only a few years.
I just don't get it......

Anyone coming???
Typical COGG though, bugger all advertising/promotion that the event was on, even when you live here.
A new hillclimb event near the boat ramp adds to the weekend.
Hope to see some small classic fords wreaking havoc.

...you are close to starting your car up for the first time after years of work on a complete nut and bolt restoration, and THAT"S when you discover you have a pin hole leak in your otherwise pristine fuel tank? Sometimes it really does feel like one step forward and two steps back. I might try some of that KBS fuel tank sealer, although I'm going to have to be careful not to clog the ventilation pipes that cross cross the top of the tank.
