My brother has Ford blue blood flowing in his veins. Got some escorts, Cortina, Mitsi GT and a BF Cobra and has just added this little gem to his stable - period correct replica GT 40 which has been in storage for a few years after the untimely death of it's owner/ builder Currently powered by a 600+hp Boss engine which will be replaced by the original genuine Gurney Westlake V8 which came with the car. Will be recommissioned due to standing for so long - oils, brake fluids etc and is planned to be raced in the big Phillip Island classic GT bash next year. Are there any really green emoticons for an event like this?? Len

...........on an important matter, I'm looking for Dad's old 1964
Mk1 White Consul/Cortina 440 that last had the regio number
HZL747 back in 1988 +or- a few
years or even if I can find the OHV engine
e/n: 113E145714 ............."money's no obstacle" I know it's a MILLION TO ONE SHOT, but after putting in a request like this on GUMTREE for A FULL SET OF GTV6 CAPRI BOOKS inc Owners manual and Maintenance manual and workshop Manual, and then GETTING all 3 GENUINE like Brand new from an interstate gentleman who had this car decades ago and wrote it off, I'm now convinced NOTHING cannot be found on the WWW (sorry about the double negative)..............at the time of listing the Wanted Ad, I thought I was "nuts" wasting my time for something so so so so very very rare !!!!!!!! ...well I was wrong!
...........hope dad's Consul/Cortina or engine shows up as well !
My mate has a 1964 Cortina without "Consul" and Emblem on Bonnet Hump and different dash Instrumentation (2 pod modern looking plus a flimsy little indicator arm with "push-in for horn" on the end, whereas Dads old 64 Consul/Cortina had a very industrial looking Combo arrangement of solid Bakelite with 2 big switches of Bakelite on RHS; one for lights and one for direction indicators, with a teardrop Bakelite switch at the end to push in for "horn" (sim to early Bedford or Commer Van), and its dash Instrumentation from memory was one wide Panel behind glass)....... ?
Just remembered Dad's had separate little oval shaped front Parkers/Indicators whereas my mates got the facelift model with those lights(clear&amber) incorporated next to the grille.............yet both 1964 !!!! .....go figure !......Dad's must have been fully imported or old run-out stock from 1960 ?................Bernie

Hi All,
Not very many small fords of any description in this area, so was surprised to find a standard RS more door in the row next to mine at a local car show yesterday that I hadn't seen before. A guy I know who has a fair stash of parts had one a while ago which he sold so maybe it has been resurrected and put back on the road. Should ask him and find out in the next day or so as he is chasing some bits for me. Seeing that one certainly made me realise how different mine now looks to a standard one!!
That makes the count 2 x 4 doors and a purple panelvan, 1x Mk1 Cortina GT plus mine. Anyone looking for a red MK2 panelvan project, my mate has one he might sell. dammed if I can find the pics, only one is the shot I took yesterday!

Yes, I go to a lot of effort to protect myself from unwanted and obtrusive information.
