Just wanted to get on and say hi and that I've just got one of the last 75 mk1's 2dr that was built in Aus. It's in pretty tip top condition and I've been pouring over these threads for about 9,000hrs straight. Feel like a kid at Christmas. Bought and paid for yesterday but have overused the word Google in the last month. I've got a fairly decent budget set aside and I'm willing to do it right (8-12month build). It's good to know I have this place to come and study and as I'm sure I will, ask a million questions. I'm in Torquay Victoria, so anyone close by or coming through is more than welcome to shoot the ****. Anyway. Thanks for having me and I look forward to the long road ahead. Although I know enough to know that there will be some testing times, but I've found something I think that will bring me much joy. Cheers

Hi guys. 6 weeks ago I had something very unfortunate happen through Ego couriers. They lost my 1600 pinto cylinder head. I traded a 2L ported big valve head for it so the replacement cost is substantial. The head was dropped at Powers transport in East Bendigo and went missing from there. Powers admit they received it, then claim to have on-forwarded to Melbourne. It wasn't scanned in so no tracking. It took 3 weeks of effort to get help from Ego. This was achieved by making many phone calls (no response to emails) and not putting up with the apathetic bullsh!t we are all so used to nowadays. So I have a Qld rep who has been great and she keeps me up to date with it all. I don't have any expectations of getting it back. This could happen to anybody. This one stuff up has cost a hell of a lot more than what I would have saved by using their services vs Aust post. My feeling is that it was stolen. They are slowly checking CCTV footage as a last resort. I'll update the thread if anything changes.

G'day all, went out to the Northam flying 50 this weekend, beaut town an hour and a bit out of Perth. It was men with moustaches racing open wheelers and weber carbs being tuned in the woolworths carpark. Lots of Mk1 Cortinas going flat out. First pic is a super early '63 GT two door...
Cheers Drew...

Hi All,
As intro says. Put the RS into a local car show here and took out Modified category for it's age group. My mate who did panel work and paint prep hasn't actually seen the finished product and will come over to check it out next week. Not bad for a street driven car.
