Nice work Rhys. Is that the head and cam from my old one? I will be on the hunt for an escort for a daily soon so I will let you know when so you can keep an eye out for me

Yep mostly same parts still in the head, had it reco'd but main parts still retained from before (valves, springs and cam) as they were all still in good usable condition.
The bottom end on the other hand was a dogs breakfast so I started again.

Small update, the Escort itself has been sold.
I kept the motor and have put the throttle bodies on. So far running well, jumped from 78kws, to 93kws with a bit of love. Cam timing still needs work but caught fire before we got to that
This motor now resides in my Blue Escort.

I do clearly have an addiction to Green 2dr Escorts and have bought another exactly the same, all original 1600, but not as good condition. My brother and I intend to enter it in a Khanacross next month.

Fair enough. We drove to walky park once. (about 1.5hours from home) broke the watts linkage in one on the runs. It snapped the diff plate and dumped the oil. Had to getback to the hills, find a trailer and then drive back to walky to tow it home. Needless to say we have towed it there eversince.... And got spare diff hats.

Anyway we were looking at lanac park. Looks fun, might see ya there
