Pinto Head Gaskets

HI all,

I'm considering swapping camshafts to something milder, and may end up with too much compression as a result.  I've always used Felpro head gaskets, which have 1.0mm compressed height, so would like to know what other makers are recommended in case I need to find something a tad thicker.

Thanks.

Judging by the lack of responses I guess everyone else uses Felpro too.  Not surprising really, as they are both good and cheap.

    Hi Flighter,

Not much help but I normally use Felpro but have also used Durapro which was a bees willy thicker from memory but haven't responded here because I cant find my little notebook on that rebuild to check.

Might be worth contacting Precision Australia and asking the question.

    Thanks,

Answering my own question here (for the benefit of others), but Victor Reinz gaskets have a good reputation on turbosport.co.uk, and are a little thicker at 1.3mm.  Cometic have a variety of available thicknesses available, but require very flat surfaces (block and head planed) and are much more expensive.

just found your post and the last head gasket I did was a felpro as well, it was part number 8361 pt and from fabre whom suggested to use it for a standard motor with turbo( low boost)the 8361pt is listed as a mercury 4 motor (boat motor)
