SELLERS OF "BLUE PINTO FAN"

I PURCHASED A PINTO BLUE ENGINE PLASTIC FAN FROM AN OVERSEAS SUPPLIER AND COMPARED IT TO AN ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN YELLOW FORD SUPPLIED FAN UNIT.

THE CENTRE LOCATING HOLE IS LARGER IN THE BLUE SUPPLIED FAN TO WHAT IT SHOULD BE IN THE ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN FORD YELLOW SUPPLIED FAN.

ENSURE YOU CHECK WITH THE SUPPLIER  THAT THE CENTE LOCATION HOLE IS THE SAME SIZE OTHERWISE THE
OPERATING LOADS WITH BE TRANSFERRED TO THE FOUR ATTACHMENT BOLTS TO THE WATER PUMP.

THIS IS AGAINST NORMAL ENGINEERING PRACTICE AND COULD RESULT IN DAMAGE TO VEHICLE, RADIATOR OR
PERSONNEL.

IF YOU WANT PROOF IN THE FORM OF PICTURES- pm ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.

A BURST STRENGTH OF THE BLUE SUPPLIED FAN HAS NOT BEEN CARRIED OUT, WHEN IT IS, RESULTS WILL BE POSTED.

Is it possible it's for the 2.3 American pinto engine? What country did the fan com from? As you say , the torsional forces are being transferred to the securing bolts, making the fan a bit of a time bomb. Len

Well, that cuts out the yank idea.  The later Pinto '205 ' block injection engines were a bit different, ports and tappet covers, maybe the water pumps were different also, spigot size and spacings?  Len
