Clutch cable?

Hi,  The cable broke today while I was in town so limped home. I think I have a old cable to get me going, what I need to know is there a better brand to buy?

Got it going, I had 3 cables including the broken one and all different lengths and only one complete.  The ball has come off the bottom of both dead cables. Now I need a new one and put in the car for next time.

Some places are able to put new ends on cables, had my handbrake cables shortened on my rear disc conversion and a brake place fitted new ends on them for me.

Just check the operating arm is not catching the bell housing when the pedal is pressed down fully.
They can bend resulting in the need for adjustment as the clutch doesn't fully disengage, the arm touches the housing before the bearing presses fully on the pressure plate. The cable is then trying to pull the engine and gearbox forward which leads to the weakest point letting go, usually the cable crimped end and not an engine mount!!
