Inlet manifold questions

Hi all,
         a few questions with regards to standard 2L 32/36 inlet manifolds. Im replacing the messed up one on my car.
  Firstly, does the inlet manifold gasket require any sealant on it or do most people fit it dry ? the gregorys manual says to use some around the coolant passage but Im thinking if you're going to do a little bit you may as well do the whole gasket.
   Secondly , one of the manifold studs was loose and backed out with the nut when removing the manifold mount nuts , effectively making it a bolt ! Are these studs loctited into the head?
 When fitting the carb to the manifold is it customary to use a gasket on both sides of the Bakelite spacer beneath the carb?

hi,
#sealant around water passage only.
#studs aren't loctited, but the stud thread at nut end  is either damaged or **** type of locking nut used. replace with undamaged stud
  and/or appropriate non locking nut.
#gasket both sides of carby spacer. If surfaces serviceable no sealant needed.

Yep that's fine, you should see unthreaded part of stud bottom out and go tight.
