After the rears were fixed i moved to the front wheel arch rear section, this was moderately rusty...

Since the bonnet and boot on my car were completely shot i have decided to go fibreglass, i have made the boot mould from mine after a quick bodge (as long as the fibreglass mould comes up good), and have borrowed Troy's bonnet for the bonnet mould making...cheers mate !
Next big graft is coming in a week or two with some help from Smcka and his boatload of stuff

Nifty little wingnut device to line the panels up.
Look good Marty.

I spent a bit of time deleting the fuel filler hole as i am thinking of a side filler with a locking filler flappy cap

Also repaired the lower curved part under the number plate spot

i found a mk1 Focus '03 sedan at a 'Ford car yard' , the Ford service mechs said the engine was seized...oil etc. After paying $2000 for the car , i took it to MY mech where he removed the engine and replaced one i supplied (std) , i drove the car home, all good there...

Now this is the engine that came out of the said Focus had covered 100,000kms and prolly never had the belt changed at 70k...note that the belt tension pulley has disintegrated in the 1st pic , this is not good...

In the 2nd pic , all 16 valves are screwed...!

The 3rd pic is a speedboat i have been given to respray....more work !

Update on the Speedboat is its done and painted, the owner took it yesterday to continue finishing it so he can get it ready for the Murray River before the summer ends...

If your wondering how the underneath was done, we used his trucks hyd crane to lift it and we put it on a home made trolly upside down(see pic1)  in background leaning on the Prefect.
I was mould making bonnets and hatches for a guy who rallys in the Finke in between the boat paint drying.  Another job i got was repairing the fibreglass bodywork for the only Aust rally car in the Dakar Rallye Raid, car 336, a red BMW X5 with Ford Focus f/glass body...odd !! http://www.dakar.com/dakar/2012/us/rider/336.html .
Back to the Anglia this week....normality..Ha !

Thanks Craig,  i wish cars were as easy to paint as boats...no dents,(dints, for those in Vic!)or rust , all panels are straight !
The colour the owner chose is the Crumpodore VE light green pearl......again...why do Molden colours look better on boats, Datsun 1600s , engine stands and 'test patches' on fence poles etc ??

Moving onto the rear arch section, these are a bit more aggro as the inner arch needs hacking about to meet up with the outer by using new strips welded in to keep strength up....and keep moisture out.

Getting close to completion on 1 rear arch, on the inner the welds are smoothed out and wiped with 3M Drip Check to fill any small gaps, next is spray stone Chip over the whole area for the factory look (yet to do !)..

The rear is yet to be blended in as i want to get the other side fitted before any filler goes on. the grey paint is etch primer which i sprayed a thin layer into the gaps to skin the bare metal over to keep rust away then applied it as normal. Also the blue is going to be the final colour choice...not sure its background either VW Golf Blue or Opel Corsa( Astra) as it is a mis-tint 2pk !
