Gave the bodywork a break this week, done some 'grafting' .. I thought this little conversion would be easy, it is... once you know how !!
I started off with a Spare Escort mk1 metal dash panel ive had stored for just such a time..

I bought these little clamps to hold the part in place while welding, brilliant tool to have, i think they were $45 for 4x clamps from uk.

A bit further on after a long thinking session !!

It was a wet and cold day with hail and fast winds so i had to get the shed fire operating to keep things at a decent temp

Finally it is welded in place, i just need to make a support for the steering column like on std mk1 Escorts.

I will be fitting a double dash pad with a 70mm cut thru the middle so it fits goodly, pics up next week.

Just a few more things i bought the other week

A bit early for buying a gear knob but at $45 from uk its worth it !

Brake pipe is copper/nickel widely used overseas, male and female brake line connectors, new..enough for 4x cars here !

Geniune Revolution caps for my Revolution 4 spokes

7x13 rally wheels, i'm going for the retro look

I also bought a mk2 Escort drop tank from Shane(Red Pepper) which will find its way onto the little Anglia.

hi mate, love this build thread,i saw you on the ford escort club sa forum!i just have a question-the gearnob you have hear, where did you get it?
and the seats you are fitting to your anglia-i have the same, myne came from a nissan sentra coupe, the older models.

Hi Immuel,
the gear knob was bought from a UK ebay shop a while ago and unsure if he's still selling them, he was doing them for Capri, Cortina and Escort at that time too..
