Those Golf arches look awesome. And great pics of how you did it too.
Love your work. And glad to see more progress of the old Anglia.

I have been busy with making moulds for the Angular again....as well as get a friends car painted at the same time !
here is the pics of my fibreglass bootlid, i modded the latch to accept an Escort locking striker and key barrel...with gas lift struts it weighs in at 4.5kgs , as to the original lid weighing almost 12 kgs !!

My rusted out bonnet came up ok after some filler and a quick coat of cheapo 2pk , which i use so give the fibreglass mould a decent gloss.

Also i had time to paint the roof of the Angular white as it was originally..

This was the last bit of rust to fix in the body shell, i had it done in an hour. Making up new channel wasnt very hard at all !

I threw out the old Anglia interior light in favor of going a Escort light, all i done was make a plate with a hole that fits the light in and weld to the frame !

As i mentioned earlier, i had a car to respray... a Escort...and he wanted it done in ultra high gloss jet black,  bit daunting bit i got at it.
The car is(was) a UK import 1972? povvo pack 1100cc drum braker, it will be running a quite hot 2.0 Pinto , Wilwood brakes, Ford Motorsport LSD, Turreted rear shocks, panhard bar, etc etc...
These 2x pics are just before i painted it

Her are some shots of the car shortly after i sprayed 4x layers black 2pk and 4x layers clear 2pk

This is the engine bay

Next we painted the interior silver, as black would be impractical being so dark behind the dash...and it looks heaps cool !

Here is a couple of final pics of the Dakar car panels i repaired..

These panels had pieces missing, prolly still in Nirobi or Angola somewhere so i had to re fabricate and strengthen as well as make the inner arches due to   many 1000s of miles being sand blasted !

The front panel was in 3x pieces with the return mounting lip obliterated !

Its been flatout here with the Black Escort being re-assembled .. finding bolts and screws takes time ! While my friend was doing that i was doing my Angula, making mould of the bonnet then making a bonnet with reinforcements for the hinges and locks.
This is the fibreglass bonnet , i hosed off the mould release agent

The doors after a date with grit blaster...Manky looking door

The driver door was worst off with some major rust and dents to tackle.

It came up quite good considering how bad it was..

Once the doors were done i moved into the body, decided to fit a fuel/gas filler behind the number plate so i chopped a hole in and boxed it up,

This is the fibreglass bonnet, i used Escort cross brace supports also in f/glass as the anglia brace is garbage !
