Hey there tailout trakn, Are you in W.A. or the south west to be more specific? we may have spoken about the manifold over the phone... Keep rolling with the projects you'll get there I've got the Des Hammill book, from pitstop also and have read it a few times too... The engines stalled for the time being, had the car painted first to complete that chapter of the rebuild and so as not to have a fresh engine sitting around for too long... Still collecting 'sundry' parts though, got an alloy sump and bell housing, fuel regulator/ pump, bolt kit, gaskets and some other hardware. The summer festival season at work has finished and so has a lot of my overtime, that has been a big factor too, age old story, when you've got the money you don't have the time and when you've got time theres no money.... Plucking up the courage to have a go at the head porting, the car taught me how to weld so this will be the next step in our evolution, I come from a millitary family so the 'adapt and overcome' is alive and kicking..... Cheers Drew

Hey tailout, Small world, I was down there a couple of weeks ago, looking at blocks at dunsborough lakes once the perth place is sold, found a summertime pack TD out near Bootleg.... The people ringing about the GT can't be too serious, 3hours is nothing to travel, I do that in my truck before smoko... I would be interested in it, I had one when I rebuilt the RS the first time, 15 odd years ago, I sold it for 2k to buy and refinish a set of RS alloys, my old boy has never forgiven me and I still kick myself about it too, at the moment though I need to finish one project before I take on another...... Haven't got around to the manifold yet, got side tracked by the painting. That was done by Finesse in Wangara, about 5k for doors off, inside and out and all the black parts, bumper, tank, dash etc. Out of all the painters I ,interviewed' he was the only one that showed genuine interest and was prepared to come around and see it in the garage to save towing it five minutes up the road. The lemon lime was matched using the fuel cap. His work was pretty good, theres a couple of very minor things that bother me but perfect is hard to achieve.... Heres a couple of pics from the day it came home.... Cheers Drew.....

Hey Drew,Well thats gonna make us neighbours then!, kool place is good old Dunsy! only bad thing have to say is very expense to live ie food, petrol etc and school holidays, long weekends, and at its worst on easter and christmas does our heads in!! ive lived there for nearly ten years now and finally got in a postion to buy and i cant afford Dunsbourgh any more! thats kool though im building a brand newy in Vasse, south side of hwy to margs near industral area! i looked long and hard at all options and found my dollar went alot futher their most importantly puts my son in vasse primary school which is well renowed as a awsome school! so all good also means i can pay it off alot quicker and stop going to sea! jus up the road and still an awsome part of the world, and its NOT in Busso which is awsome! ANYWAYS thanx heaps for the photos of the paint ,it looks awsome did they lay down much clear? very hard to tell in the direct sunlight, but i do love this colour and how the shades come through in different stages of afternoon light! wat about the nose cone? 5k ha! was that rust aswell or prep and paint? as far as the manifold goes i still have mine and i also have 45 side draghts with manifold for 2ltr. i have down draght for sale, but as to date no bites, then im also thinking of useing the sideies for my Yb project and grab a set of downies for the RS....i dont know and must obvisly work it out before i spend anymore money! hence the sale of the GT,that included the house build , 3 cars, a harley ,bills, son and schooling soon, im just not gonna get to finish GT and i would rather pass it to someone who can and will enjoy it instead of it sitting around and waiting, also redirect the coin into these other areas! i guess its tuff at the top hey:) and i should stop jawing on as lots of people dont have half the stuff ive got! thats not to say it came easy as i had to sacrifice for it! blah blah blah! :) ANYWAYS! thanx again for the piks and would really like to see your progress on the lemon/lime! Yew! OORU! Tailout
