38/38 dgms weber?????

Building a pinto engined car at the moment with the aim of putting it on a Western Australia club rego. The guidelines say that the vehicle must be 'as produced'. However I figure what they can't see won't hurt them. The bottom end has been worked on and I'm using a group 1 style, valved and ported head,. I'm also lead to believe that the 38/38 dgms carb will fit on the standard manifold and under the standard air cleaner. If so, is this a reliable option, any ideas on baseline jetting and a cam to suit?........

You are correct about the 38/38 dgms fitting on the standard manifold and under the standard aircleaner.  They will also out perform the standard 36/32 dgav.  The trained eye will spot the sycronous linkage on the carb, but hey, worth a shot.  I too would be interested in hearing the baseline setting's, I have one that I brought from Fast Road Cars in the UK.  It was apparently jetted to suit a pinto but I couldn't get it running good enough to drive to the mechanic's to have it tuned properly, so it went back in the box.  Below is the link to what I have and it details the jets in it.

If your going to use a 38/38 dgms or dfav as used on mk2 v6 Capri S, start off with running the same jets & emulsion tubes etc as the stock pinto 2 barrel. Remember to swap idle jets over too . I seen the link and jets were 145, as normal is between 120-128 (1.2mm-1.28mm). This should get the car running ok . Good luck

Cheers guys, visited a suzuki forum and those guys are using them with varied results on their 1300 sierra engines. I learnt sidedraughts the hard way by getting the book and nutting it out step by step so I'm acctually feeling confident and looking forward to having a play with this one How hard can it be? Theres only one of them to go wrong this time... haha famous last words....
