ya dipstick!

haa no really just having dramas with my engine and need to get the basics sorted!
questions might seem stupid but just need to clarify..
ok i take it that the oil should be between the two notches...more to the top! add----full yes?

so what about the dipstick seal..were should it be? top or bottom notch? or maybe it shouldnt move..

and do i have the right dipstick to start with?

just getting mystery oil levels(might be getting fuel into sump?)
also is castrol 20w 50 ok for a daily drive?
cheers
