40 marked on top of my piston heads

i took apart the head on my pinto. discovered a different cam double valve springs and the number 40 on top of my piston heads.

does this mean there 40 thou pistons and that the cylinders have been bored out?

    yes didn't expect it at all! the guy i bought it off reckons it has a spun bearing, so far only only found the head gasket blown.

    trying to figure out what cam is has...

    also is it worth keeping these pistons?
