burning oil?

at work last night (pizza delivery) car was blowing smoke, got home to swap cars to see was blowing blue smoke from exhaust. fired it up thismorning but no blue smoke? only a lil black sooty like stuff like normal wen i first start it up?

any ideas?
will prob drive it again sometime this week and see if it blows smoke again

    Check your PCV valve - pass side rear of block, plugs into the caniser on the side of the block. This should operate as a one way valve - if jammed closed it will pressurise the sump.

    If you pull the valve out (pushes into a rubbrr grommet, hose clamp on top) should be able to blow fairly freely from the large end to the small end but not the other way around

    And when you blow, you will get a black oily ring on your lips.........
