One of the best bits of money ive spend was getting an RS wheel retrimmed in leather, just connects you to the car so well. The original was quite worn and in poor condition.

Also some more random photos from my phone

This is the link i gave the seat trimmer and told him to make mine the same, pretty sure he nailed it.

Hi Robbie, I'm not saying/suggesting you change to a thicker oil. Just a comment & suggestion of perhaps where to look after you said you had changed the output shaft seal and the box was still leaking. Perhaps give the area a good clean and then after standing overnight look for the first signs of oil leakage. If it's on the tailshaft rather than under the seal on the extension housing I'd be looking at that plug I mentioned earlier.
How good was the surface which slides through and makes contact with the gearbox output seal? Smooth & polished I hope.

Yeah thats the part the mechanic looked at and thought may have been a bit suss so for the sake of 150 bucks ive purchased another its just a matter of time getting the car into his to install.

When we installed new control arms we cleaned the area and left it while it was on the hoist and oil started to weap from the extension housing, i think he suggested we next change the extension housing bush and seal again, but i think to get to the bush its a box out job? Thanks for the help, im very poorly mechanical minded and often break more then i fix when i attempt these things.

I was lucky enough to drag the misses out of bed at 630am for a coffee and cars last weekend.

Parked up next to a mates evo, im pretty pound and happy with the escort but it is humbling when his brake package is about 3/4 the cost of what i paid for my whole car. That been said tho he couldnt believe the amount of attention the escort got.

Thanks mate, i had an evo before the escort and am much happier in my old ford now. Do miss the boost tho. I keep telling the misses we should get a focus RS.

Know what you mean, Robbie.  My brother has been trying to get an Escort for a while, very hard to find in far NQ, so he bought an RS Focus for his 50th.  Still haven't organised a ride in it yet!

Suspension parts look nice. You source them locally or from o/s?
Interior looks nice. Motivation to do something with mine other than bare metal...

Parts were sourced from the Grp4 distributor for aust Classic Rally sport. John was very good to deal with.

Im happy with the interior, still keen to redo the carpet and head lining, do the windows need to come out for best fit of the head lining?

I actually like bare look of your RS, i often use your thread as motivation. Id love if my car was as clean as yours, not to mention im very envious of your brake set up.

Hi Robbie, nice suspension package there, bet your eager to get them installed . With the roof lining the windows will need to be removed for a neat fit, i wouldn't try with the glass still in..

Hi Marty.

very keen for them to be installed, really looking forward to see how it changes the car.

I assumed it would be a windows out deal to get it to fit best, arh well.

Appreciate the kind words. My interior was done on the rush just to get the car on the road. Trying to come up with a plan now to finish it off. Will still be Spartan but a bit tidier.

Might have to look up classic rally sport. Like the idea of the leather stitching on the steering wheel. Looks good.
