Nice to see you just tapped it back, if consider rolling it in more coz if happened once it can re occur.. giving the quality of Adelaide roads . With brakes, it's a personal preference and can't remember if you was buying a big brake kit or just thinking it. A cheap setup is vents (2.8i capri rotors) and lightly modify a set of Volvo 4 spots from an old 264 , trust me, this cheap kit never faded while I went rapidly thru the hills , and a 6 lapper at mallala just for fun.. My Escort only had 13s as didn't like the way 15s changed handling. Another option that's cheap is focus/fiesta rotors and calipers with a suitable adapter to mount them, not 4spot but they haul up a focus quite fine so will slow down a Escort better.... And pads are everywhere !!

Agree with the focus ones. Early model were 4 stud, PCD 108 so no mods required. Made up an adaptor to mount the calipers and got a blue plate without any dramas , using OEM is easier. Fitting the twin cable handbrakes was a bit of work but got that sorted in the end. Plenty of stopping power, fronts are Group 1- ie 2.8I vented. Cheers Len

This is for the rear? kinda like the sierra kit? Ive heard s13 nissan stuff is option also Ive found a kit in the UK i like and will prolly pull the trigger on once i sell my cossie head. The rear is the one im unsure of, alot of people suggesting the escort doesnt need the disc upgrade but seems a bit silly to put some large fronts on and leave the rears drums.

They cost me $250 for the lot from local wreckers and about$50 for clean up and new seals- cheap , reliable and readily available was the way for me. Mate did a CAD drawing from the measurements, boilies at work cut them out for me, all I had to do was drill the holes for the diff mounting and calipers.

That sounds like a great off the wreckers solution. Unfortunately for me I don’t have access to people who can make these things up unless I approach a shop and that comes in a cost of their time. Hence an off the self option is appealing.
I’ve seen Paul’s kit for the r31 calipers but finding those can be a pain and expensive, I think another member is working on a kit also but unsure on what parts they are thinking of using but it follow the same principles.

Hey Robbie, you have probably seen the rear kits available from Burtons and the like. I contemplated something similar on the Capri recently, but wanted it to remain as std as possible. It was also suggested to me that the rears do bugger all in comparison, and just help to keep the car straight. So it was just a good refresh, new slaves, pads etc, and good to go. Everything UK wise seems exxy at the moment, especially due to freight. With little air freight flying, the cost of getting some bubble arches here equated to 1 arm, and a leg, plus 1/2 a kiwi.

Thanks, yeah i was looking at a sierra kit from either burtons/motorsport tools. Ive also been told the rears dont do much and a disc conversions is not really needed either, i would figure that upgrading the front to a 277mm (disc in the kit im keen on) would need an upgrade to the rear to somewhat settle out the larger front bias. I know i have the bias box to dial it in but yeah not sure if reducing the efficiency of the upgraded fronts is the right answer. If any of that makes sense. Gartrac took about a week from my order until delivery which at this time i was really impressed/shocked with.

So I emailed Ford and they were able to send me this build list based off the VIN. Seems to match the plates on the car which is nice - colors changed a bit tho. Inspired by this thread ive started to do much the same. http://craftomoto.com/cus.m-omp-ford-capri-pedals/ Watch this space i guess.

Hey Robbie. Same dealer sold mine to its first owner a few months later. I never did manage to find out how it made its way to WA though.

It's amazing how long Stillwell has been there for...I owned a 1960 Anglia that was sold by them, but was called something else though the address is the same... I'll try find a pic of the pedals in my mk1 van for inspiration, I used Focus ST pedal rubbers which just about fitted straight on without much modding..

Yeah guess when your onto a good thing selling cars you just keep going at it, the money in dealerships must be there. Mazda even have a barista there when the misses car get serviced. Love to see the pedals Marty! I actually reached out to the bloke from the capri thread I listed above and he has sent me out some rubbers to suit the pedal just like he has done. He wanted some gaskets in aus that seller wasnt keen on posting so i had them posted to me. Then i thought id just post to Croatia, no luck with covid - no aus-croatia mail. So they have been forwarded to Germany with the hopes that one day theyll get to him. Somewhat of a social postal experiment between the two of us, lets see whos arrives first if at all.

Yeah they are a good fit considering they're made for a car 40+ yrs later !!
Where I live, within a week your car is coated in dust lol.
