Stereo installs Capri.

Hi just looking for ideas on what people have done for stereo replacements in the Capri and others.
Not one to ever want a standard radio as I don’t see the point. My White V6 has no radio ever fitted so I just use a Bluetooth speaker and that’s the way that will stay.
My other car has a new style installed so the dash is cut to accommodate already ( so I can’t damage it anymore) so looking for as many ideas as I can get.
I’ve got a single din stereo that opens up to reveal an 8.25 inch screen but won’t work in the Capri but I’m constructing a way it might but still look standard sort off.
Ideas on what others have done is really what I’m after though.

haven't done it in the Escort or Capri, but my last 2 dailys have DAB radio.
If I was going to replace a head unit now, it would need that (you cant beat Elf radio, and Chemist Warehouse channel really rocks :))
So long as it has DAB, a reasonable power output, USB and Bluetooth to phone, that's all I'd go for.

The Capri still has a Panasonic tape unit (no CD) , cost me 2 motzas at the time, and came complete with anti theft fascia panel., kids think the tapes as so retro.

I'm fitting a RetroSound radio to my Capri, no cutting of the dash fascia all original looking type of radio with latest tech stuff.

You can option the knobs face plates to suit your tastes.

I’ve installed now a stereo that’s single din flip up with 7 inch screen. It runs dvd, gps, rear and front camera, digital tv and everything else you could imagine.
I put a roller cradle behind the dash and now the unit moves forward enough to miss the dash but slides back to look as stock as a CD player can. Work in progress but will be sweet when finished.

Bear in mind this dash was already cut this way. A pic of it fully closed.

Any flip up stereo can now be used. New ones have Apple car play Android something or other. Alpine make these stereos and the list goes on. I searched and missed out but a few companies made the perfect solution flip down but only a few ever made and can’t get them anymore. This will work for years with upgrading. Enjoy

Nice job wiggy .But personally I’ve got no chance in hell even coming close to hearing a stereo over my motor..I’ve tried a I have an old 80s turn knob fm stereo just to fill a hole basically, don’t even have speakers hooked up.
