I asked to come see the car before making a bid and even asked to see if it didn't sell as I was a cash buyer. You kindly told me no even though I would never buy a car off a picture or sight unseen. Irrelevant now as I've picked up two farm finds and a new running capris anyways. But it always pays to show a little respect to people as you never know how fat there wallet is....

I don't know what you are trying to imply but it did technically sell which automatically invoked an ebay contract and it took me the mandatory 10 days for ebay to formally cancel the contract, but in any case I was pretty clear about my availability and that I would keep it if not sold so not really a true reflection of the conversation we had, but welcome to the forum and best of luck with your projects.

Attachment says it all.
Clearly stated, bidding starts at 25k, then the question is asked so how much do you want for it? wow, either can't read or a numpty, maybe both.
People like this are the reason I don't sell cars, just build more garage spaces

Drewdog the question of how much he wanted for it was simply asked because I have no interest in getting into a bidding war. It never hurts as a buyer to always try and get the best price possible.. you only have to ask. However if you read the conversation I'm guessing the seller was hoping 2-3 people would just bid crazy on it.. my post was a simple reply to the fact that I still would have bought it but reality is I was never going to be able to view it before the Auction finished. If it went back up for sale tommorow I would probably still buy it. I pick up my 6th capri on Saturday and don't mind buying another 1 or 10. But given the seller is now keeping it and does reside in the same city as myself I hope
To see it out cruising soon as there is not enough around anymore in Perth

Yeah, some people who made enquires were great but decided it wasn't for them, which is fine, that was the whole point of writing such a detailed ad, but I also had lots of messages from obvious bargain hunters.  Where Btad fits I don't know.  I didn't contact him or anyone else because I decided to keep the car.  Nothing to do with respect.

But the process was good in that I found out about the pins and we have a thread for future searchers to refer to about correct location of early bonnet pins, and that Ford had an option to order a car without them.

I have decided to keep the pins but move them to the correct position and will also put the badges back on, fit dummy vents, over riders, mk2 diff centre, a rear louver,.....and an electric washer bottle.  Will probably paint with the slight pearl again, I really like it.  So it will remain close to original but not exact.

Very unlikely that it will ever be offered for sale again.   Who knows maybe a hot orange with country suspension and delete bonnet pins is a 1 of 1 car or at least a 1 of 1 survivor......slightly modified

Sure but why start a rant about respect and fat wallet when it doesn't go your way.

And 6 capris, cant help but wonder if you are the same 5 capri owner that had a very good look over it at the all ford day show.

Gtv6 not having a rant about it not going my way. Earlier on the post there was a comment about it not selling or to close to Xmas but my point was I would have bought it that's all. As for the all ford day I wasn't there but nice to know there's people out there with multiple capris as well I met a gentleman the other day who had 8 in his shed. Was one of the greatest things I've seen. Gts xl deluxes was like a fat kid in a lolly shop.

sounds like your both sorted then.

GTV6 I look forward to your new plans, you might be on the way now to modding the car to your dream spec.
You own it, make it your own I reckon, then enjoy it, don't stress about whatever future anoraks may pick up on.

One of the best things about capris has always been, put 100 together, and no 2 are the same.

Rip into it whatever you do, and post up pics so we can all enjoy.
