Well after a long time tinkering and 3 other capris and an escort jumping in front of it the 165hp is ready.  Drives well and looks great

An RPO83  Falcon consists of a bigger carby and bigger set of headers, not much yet it is a big part of the FORD story in Australia.
You have mentioned  parts, but not the close ratio gearbox, or the cars provenance or the reason these eleven cars were built by Aus. Ford. We of the small ford fraternity just dont seem to value the Australian history of our cars as much as the Falcon boys do.
Is a Falcon GTHO phase three worth 1.4 million dollars? Not in the sum of its parts , but add the legend and yes it is.
This is where we are falling short.
This car needs a full write up and a shannons auction to test its real value.
Something to ponder over, JR. Just sayin.

Ron
could not have said it better myself ............  you're 100% spot on in all you said !
Our Capris were assembled here in Australia, and have been raced by famous drivers all over Australia.
Let's not forget the XA was the first Australian designed Falcon; the XY to XK 'design" was basically USA and we altered a few things for Ozzie desired details, similar to the Capri was UK and came here in boxes CKD.
The latest Capri for sale, as Martymexico pointed out, is at a price about right IF it was a V6 and details correct.

Putting the rare GTHO PIII aside for a moment, it doesn't add up that on more than one occasion a basic XY GT 351 has sold for more than  A HUNDRED TIMES its 1971 price, yet the GT V6 Capri with all its heritage and racing history and fame, tantamount to the XY GT, has not aspired to anything like the same financial ratio.

I for one would like to pass on my Capri GT V6 and the other "horses in my stables", to my sons when the day comes I can no longer drive, which I hope is decades away, so its value is of no consequence to me.
