there are much better buys (as restorers) than that there (that baby blue one of mine cost 3k or something and just had a small engine fire) - apparently it (the yellow one) has been sitting out in a paddock from the mid 90's and is a lot worse than it looks. I don't think its worth bringing back in one piece. (its not even a v6). ($4500 - $5500 to bring it back and clear it and you've a very very rusty 4 cyl)
$500 (air fares) there and back, car hire (sleep in the car), buy the tools over there (and post them back to yourself), cut it and dismantle it (maybe the guy will let u do it at his) and post (no tax) them back (they have a habit of catching u at the airport and making u pay GST! - ive been slugged). If enough people wanted and were willing to pay for parts (split rear seat there!) - may be ok... OR if u had a capri and needed all the bits - very worth while
So u may get out of it for $1500 expenses if u were lean and well organised ......
it interests me for the latter - and apparently there are a couple of others available cheap - do them all in the one trip and make it worth while.
if u had somewhere to store a 20ft container and go back and forth, and gradually fill it - could be good - because they keep coming up for nicks.

So Spud you've argued about rust from NZ Capris but I don't want a mouldy one and it's a Mk2. Spores when you cut it aren't good for the lungs and fumigation costs well won't go their.

A friend will pick the yellow one up fr me and will send the bits over. But I'm thinking more re the 3 ltr facelift he's found - in collecting bits fr my RS and the 3litre would be a good donor

That's right - theres a fair bit of really good stuff - cheap - esp stuff that's not advertised - pity it's so expensive t get it here

Half its being there and knowing where the cars are (same as here) - my friend has 4 lined up - ill chip in and just take what he can post. Just fill up boxes with smaller stuff - looms, trims, bits and pieces - and have to get stuff (panels & trim) for my RS - that'll do me. (unless he comes up with another very very cheap restorer) - capris are worth enough here to justify bringing them in

id be interested in the boot / back panel trim and a clock on that yellow one and left side air vent and hose
by the way was at the wreckers today just going past and notice he had a v6 engine on the ground with a power sterring pump on it ,,so thought id post it up incase somebody might want it ..
its at small ford wreckers in minto nsw .. didnt see a rack but he might have it
