Almost anything from these two (who I suspect may be one and the same) are anything but well priced:

If he's normal like you and I, & not on crack (as drugs are more expensive in more ways than I care to elaborate), then he's not desperate for the money, & hoping someone with too much money or on drugs, will pay drug money for what is indisputably truly rare..............I for one would not consider them anywhere near that price, esp as the bonnet looks very 2nd hand (even if says NEW!) and has a huge hole in its middle !............This alone has reduced his market down to 20 or 30 punters who may possibly still drag racing Capris ........I'd buy it if affordable so as to re-instate it to original by re-filling that ugly hole, but leave the 2 recessed Security Pin holes, like the Falcons had.

For my reserve parts Xmas pressies, I went silly & just picked up 2 immaculate bare door shells for $100 each, NEW Steering Rack Assy for $200, as new Grille with rubbers for $100, as-new Wiper Motor, Support, Linkages & Wheelhouse Assy for $50, used Mk2 centre console for $50, vgc Radiator for $50, NEW Aunger rear Louvre for $100, the 4 as new make-believe Side Vent, Accessory Dress-ups for $100, 2 XA-XC door mirrors (inc pedestals) in 100% perfect nick for $25 ea, & 2 NIB Brake Discs for $25 ea! ...He had a NEW Guard to Guard Bonnet Lock Panel for $300 which I'm sure to regret one day for not grabbing.

Glenn, they don't care about "credibility" when they have ONE of something totally unobtainable and long gone, and they ONLY have ONE chance to sell it to ONLY ONE person willing to jump on it before 99 others do!
Diamonds are the best example of this inequity, but much worse..............how a 1st world man or a woman can be so vain and inconsiderate as to spend one thousand to one million dollars+ on a tiny piece of glass pulled out of the earth by slaves on $1 x day wages definitely does my head in big time........an XB GT NIB Grille is about a million times RARER, but the market for a NIB Falcon Grille is hugely smaller than clients for Diamonds...........go figure!
    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Who of us here, who had ONLY ONE Super-Rare Brand New Capri FoMoCo Washer bottle would list it at the $5 or $6 it cost back in 1972 ?............or say double their money and even magnanimously sell it for $10 or $12 ? .........  I bet I'll get no takers !
Back then in 72 most would go to the wreckers and get a common Holden or Falcon Bottle for $1 or $2 in lieu of paying Ford $5 or $6 for the original equipment!

I think the main issue is some people buy NOS parts for reasonable amounts of money and they're on ebay days later for 1000% more. I don't mind paying market price for bits, but when the market is being manipulated it makes it hard for people to restore cars without spending a fortune.

there's definitely some substance action going on with the cos's ebay seller ''clutch"
I think he must just ordering  from Motomobil, then re selling on to idiots.

as for the rest of us, I think you have better luck printing for Ford snaplock bags, and selling them to mr. Clutch.
He can the claim everything is new olds stock, add an extra $50 and give you a Ford bag.

I have not seen many reasonably priced ebay items for some time.

Interesting to see cars sell on gumtree only to come back up again shortly after at a greater price. Saw it happen with a GT Cortina project car then again recently with a beaut Mk2 Cortina. The father of the guy I got my GT from was asking $3500 for it and I reckon he'd have taken $3000... the new owners just listed it on gumtree for $10k, good luck with that one...
On the other side there was a low mileage TE Cortina Ghia going for $7k, it came back on just before christmas for $2700 and lasted one day, now that was a bargain I'd have grabbed it was it not an asthmatic 4cyl auto

thats as far as i would go maybe not even  considering how much these things cost to rebuild and to go thru everything  replace all the bits etc  still never know somebody may want a labour of love
only reason id go for it is its not to far from me to check out

good luck hope at least it goes to good home and gets back on the road

altho not even sure if i want another capri wouldnt mind a wagon of some sort xy x something or valiant , but i will probably end up with a escort mk1 that i always wanted

I'd need to crawl all over the car and parts before I'd consider going over 10.
