That's all it is - meeting a customers request fr a non standard colour. Frosted metallic pewter and reef green are ford colours - but not normally offered on capris

Jamie we both didn't get to see the car. But I remember from the add that the SVO was not in the paint section also the guy said it was SVO from the wide body. I won't discount anything that can happen with Ford. Until I can track that car down again I'm forever curious ( but your probably right?) I may have taken pics of the add will have a look when I get time (not likely till Xmas). Which is soon.

Hey Spud did you get this one as. Xmas present to yourself. Apparently I don't get a Xmas present cause I bought a gearbox for my birthday. All agreed on that. But it cost $800 with delivery. But now with import charges I have lost my Xmas present as well. The $2100 bill just for importing was mmm a rather big shock. So I decided I'll make my own present but unsure what that will be right now. Oh just thought about it. I'll fix up a Capri.

Sounds good Wiggy, post the pics up here if you can. My doubts come from the modern phenomenon of crazy ebay claims from just as crazy sellers who think they have the only <insert item here> in the world. I've also never heard of a wide body Capri and I've been around Capris for 28 years. You're right I suppose, stranger things have happened. ;^)
Cheers Jamie

was looking at that one on ebay ..looks as if somebody pumped them lips out ... wonder if its bog or metal ..some cars maybe rust free but nor bog free as i found out bog was covering the rust ...when i was changing sill's they lookes ok but when you started rubbing back the bog got deeper then a old supprise paper jammed inside to hold bog in so off came both sill's and new ones went on ... there were some real bad butcher's in theole days and not much better these days as welll when i went to take my car to paint shop he wanted to bog some small dents in the fender's i replaced i said stuff that tap the ding out not just fill it up i made sure they did dolly work and demanded i see it before any bog went on ... i put that much work into my capri and no bloody way would i let the panel shop bog places that just needed very little dolly work ... pretty much why i am hesitant to buy another capri .

That's exactly why I choose to do all the resto work myself. Time consuming and tiring and frustrating however I learn a lot, and not dependent or reliant or exposed to any one.

I'm in no hurry and learning panel art myself. With nothing to lose and everything to gain it's quite relaxing. Everything for me has stopped after a motorbike accident but during this time I've been sourcing parts and learning. I am back into it next year with fresh enthusiasm and really want to learn spraying cars as well. With so many to do,and let's face it painting is not rocket science I'll give it a try. I've sprayed before for years now on machinery etc. Just need the final finishing tricks for perfection on cars which is now littered through YouTube channels to your hearts content.
