Hi

Can you let me know the part number for the discs in the photo above please? I'm having trouble finding them via google. Thanks!

ill have a squiz tomorrow.

below is a good answer to the unavailability of rs3100 ventilated rotors. Use the standard 2.8i ventilated rotor with an adaptor

Hi

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I have a 3000GT (UK Facelift model, assembled 12/73) and I'm wanting to retain the original 3.0 struts - and unless my eyes are deceiving me the TE discs shown in the earlier photos are solid and a direct replacement for the Capri 3.0 discs?  The adapters with vented discs in the photos just above look great but I'd have trouble getting those through a vehicle inspection here (I'm in NZ, don't hold it against me ).

Thanks.

To Spud15 - thanks for the PM, I can't reply yet as apparently I've not been a member long enough (3 days + required). I'm in Wellington.

Rang Repco this morning and they list TE Cortina discs but cannot give me the dimensions of them so not sure if they have the correct ones to bolt on my car.  Is the PCD of the TE disc the same as the Capri 3.0 disc i.e. will the Capri 3.0 hub bolt to the TE disc? A part number & brand would be very useful

capri4me if you are still looking for the disc dimensions I posted a scan of a DBA catalogue on the first page of this thread that has all the disc dimensions.

Hi spud15 and blue74 - thanks for both your replies, I think I'll be able to sort something now. Just a matter of finding the discs (locally). The discs I currently have on the car are the original 43 year old factory 3.0 discs, they are not warped but have been ground and are close to minimum thickness now - so I would rather replace them and keep the originals as spares.

spud15 - like the Yellow Capri, very nice - had not seen that before but I'm not a club member (one of those things I'll get around to one day...)

My car is a 'Tawny K' (metallic goldish-poo-brown) 4-speed 3000GT 'R' (Rallye Pack) Facelift made 12/73 - so just about the last of the mk1 Capris. Only ~100k on the clock, off the road since '91. Seats like new, paint tired but body not rusty (a miracle in itself).

Have added 2.8i F&R anti-rollbars (24mm & 14mm), replaced the shocks with GAZ adjustable, installed shorter front springs (still sits high), poly bushes, new TCAs, tie-rod ends, o/hauled rack, rebuilt brakes (new pads, shoes, cylinders, pistons, seals, lines, hoses, NOS Girling M/C). About to install an alloy timing gear, and need to get the engine out to replace the oilpump drive, check the clutch & core plugs. Then do hardened valve seats etc. etc. Lots of $$$ needed, will get there one day (I hope).

Currently I'm repainting the roof in preparation for a new (black) vinyl roof - I'll attach a picture or 2 once it looks a little more presentable. I'm also in the process of installing GXL quad headlights as I prefer these to the rectangular lights (luckily I got a set of GXL backing plates & bezels as part of the deal to buy the car).

capri4me; seems like you have done a lot of work already, you could start a thread under the Capri Projects and add some photos, it's always great to follow other peoples projects as they develop.
