1970 mk1 2 door 1300 super

Ive had this in the shed for years and it should soon be on the road.
The design brief was not to spend too much money and keep it as original as possible whilst employing mods that are bolt on and in keeping with its classic nature.
Mechanical.
Pinto engine with 2000e gearbox and 3.54 diff.
Two and a quarter inch mandrel bent exhaust with two mufflers.(dont want it loud).
Refreshed engine with hardened valve seats and detail porting.
Electronic ignition.
Improved cooling system. Airtec with electric thermo fan.
RS2000 alloy sump and improved baffles
Fully sealed battery and shifted to the boot to allow for the extra weight of the pinto.

Suspension.
Capri struts and brakes.
one and a half inch lowering blocks and radius rods to diff.
Nylon inserts.
gaz adjustable shocks.

Body.
All standard except for Cibie driving lights and two tone paint. (Burgandy metallic with frosted pewter roof.)

Wheels are 13 by 6 rostyles with 185/60 by 13 tyres.
Interior standard except for 2 inch tacho and optioned leather bound sports steering wheel.
Thats all i want to do to it for now.
Some teaser pics.

Vents are original and in good condition, just need to make sure the passengers dont touch them, ha ha.

This car is the one that i am the most nostalgic about because of the gt i had in the late sixties. (When i was 18 to about 22) I only have to look at it to feel good ha ha. Its still under 20000 miles. I will do a show and tell on it soon.

Wow! So clean Ron. The Supers seem to have survived much better than the other Mk1 models. This is a real gem. Pinto conversion looks amazing. Is that a new old stock air cleaner?

Can't say I remember seeing a black one before - do I need to get out from under my rock, or were these fitted to Cortina's?

WTB: Recaro seat - any condition considered
