the mis aligned mounting point also presented little issue - the solution is a standard ford gearbox mount - see pic. Ive just bolted a piece of flat plate to it to accept the later model T5  mount and it fits straight up!





Any luck with working out what car this bracket came from? Im having a hard time finding one!

100/100 for your great explanation and great photos !
 
I looked from beginning of this thread back in 2017, and I guess Im blind, (man eyes the wife says!),
 
but cannot see if this thread is for a V6 Essex Mk1 Capri that was orig 4 speed w. side linkages ?
 
If so, I'm so blown away with glee !
 
What speed is she most comfortable at when in 5th gear please ?
