Worked out well
Glove box to cover now. Then will start finalising timber and mounting gauges and switches
Did a bit of a trial fit with the smiths gauge where the clock is planned to go

Ionix is the bottom of your parcel shelf aluminium too?

I was going to remake one for the Capri many years ago.
The one I found was the std fibreboard/cardboard thing from whatever they used to make them out of.

Someone mentioned to me at the time about safety having what effectively could be an aluminium blade just around knee height in the case of an accident. I hadn't though of it at the time.
It was remade out of cardboard and I reused the time edge facing.

Not trying to pee on your parade at all, as you've just done a great job.
Just something to consider maybe.

That's very true deano
I handnt considered that. I am going to put a fat timber front in it but that's definitely something to consider :)
That's the great things about these forums getting feedback from people about things you wouldn't ever think of!

I remade the drivers side shelf for my Mk 2 out of laminate , covered it in carpet and took care of edge with some leftover inner doorway seal from the escort. Eliminates the raw edge, blends in with the black carpet and stops any bits from sliding off the shelf. Len

Just started finishing the timber for the section across the front.
The switches for windscreen wipers and headlights will go on the left. I am changing them over to a pull out type like older mgs etc

Thanks whooligan!
I've enjoyed putting my own style to it.
A few more days and the interior should be finished (pending no disasters)

its coming along nice Ionix, those shapes are not too easy to start with and can be harder to do nice than you expect.
Contact gluing a thin layer of upholstery padding from spotlight (only a few mm thick)  underneath your vinyl next time might give you a bit cheat margin to make it all look nice and tight. A bit of trim and a few gauges and shell look schmick. Doorcards or dashtop next?
