Motomobil do nice recon strut tops exchange.  Just send them some old escort ones for the exchange.  http://www.motomobil.com/

I have never seen that type of strut top before.  Your car was around 20 years old before it went into storage so has probably been tinkered with a little in that time.

Grab the chrome corners from the donor car screen and put them away, hard to come by these days.

oops. heres the other pic.

Are these tapered. Hard to tell from the photo.
Around 1983 I made 50 pairs of these with cast aluminium housing and polyurethane to make it flexible. The later ones were polished.

Yeah Ive come to the conclusion that I just don't have the time or money to do this resto justice. Or space.. I have 6 cars and 3 garage spaces so something needs to be parked outside. I thought it best to handball this onto a Capri enthusiast who will give the car the TLC it deserves. I wish I could keep it as its such a beauty of a car but the money will be handy. I might also sell off my VH commodore top 30 dealer special too but ill sit on that decision for a little while... Very interesting to see what this goes for, as youre right, it needs a full resto but it is a very original and honest project.
