Yeah, Im pretty sure I'll get used to the flywheel and driving accordingly, I was wondering how well it will stand up to abuse etc...time will tell[:p]
I looked at the varex mufflers...they are pretty much the same principal as what Im doing, but I dont have the height that the varex needs so decided to do it the hard way[:o)]

Looks so good with the carbon stuff on the motor.
As said above..... almost the best looking cos motor i have seen... just love the small turbo head with the carbon.
How is engine coming along? So sorry I never made it to yours - I will next time in Sydney.

Hi Lincoln,
I think it was the carbon gear that swayed me to the small turbo cover for this build[:p]
The engine is about to start moving again, I have my valves and springs as well as the flywheel now so no more engine components needed thankfully. It is all machine work from here. I think the next jobs are rebalancing the new crank and other rotating parts, and boring the block. Once the block is machined and finished it needs to go to the paint shop to be painted to match the body colour. Im expecting the head to take a while as we need to custom make guides to suit the cossie od and the subaru id.

Its been a while since an update but things have still been moving along...the exhaust is now done and the exhaust cut out valve is nicely hidden away. The last part of the exhaust job remaining is to fit the ebp bung and have the visible parts ceramic coated...possibly will be done next week. On the engine front, the block is now bored, ready to be torque plated and honed to finished size so slowly progressing there. The turbo is also for sale to anyone who wants a proven 350rwhp and 11sec ET from a GT3076R on a stock worn out engine  Seats are getting very close...hopefully I will see them before Christmas[:p] No pics due to a dead camera[xx(]

Cheers Paul  Got a few more things done today...made a template to mount the Accusump under the nsf guard, and made the jig to start work on the new inlet manifold, basically, if it fits in the jig, it will fit in the engine bay[;^)]

What sort of manifold design are you thinking?
Are you getting the manifold flow tested? (Not telling you how to suck eggs as your engineering is top notch and I am sure a good study of good designs it would be very close). But those cheap sweedish manifold had almost 100deg c difference in cylinder egt's - that would not be good.

Hi Lincoln,
Im steering clear of the 'swedish' plenums, going for longer runners to try and pick up some mid range. I have an EECIV manifold and plenum here ready to go in the interim which is reputed to match the RS500 plenum for flow.

Yes small turbo ones are good. I had a look/go in at Jakes one of Graeme's saff and liked it.

There is certainly some good reading there!! Looks like the MIS manifold is getting close to the money...runner length looks right and tb intake looks good. Its a pity modern turbo technology wasn't around back in the 80's when the cossie manifolds were designed...nothing that could make big hp would make boost under 4500-5000 rpm so no need to design a manifold that was efficient under these numbers hence what we have in the std manifold designs. I had a drive of Jakes car with the fabricated manifold years ago and yes...there is definately something to be said about runner length/volume/taper being optimised...the mid range was exceptional.
