MK 1 Cortina project FINISHED

Has anyone seen this 64 Cortina around, it has a 4AGE motor, 5-speed and escort running gear. It has been engineered but needs blue slipping for rego. I was planning a full restoration/custom but I'm temped to put it on the road and have some fun first.

I'm just starting to look for a few parts, does anyone know of a place to get sills, lights, bumpers etc for a good price?

Wow, looks like a really nice project.

That's why I stay off ebay, that sort of thing could get me divorced.

Tar's for getting there. Dirt's for racing!

The engine sounds really good and it drives so that's a bonus. The dyno chart say just over 110hp which is no where near enough for me so my attention will be on that as much as the body

Well, I have made a start on my project. I have made a rotisserie so I can turn the car over and have started stripping the car. I must say I'm really pleased with what I've found so far, there is hardly any rust in the car. next job is to pull the motor and box out.
Does anyone know what size wheels/tyres will fit under the MK1 without too much dramas. mine is a bit lower than stock?

Thanks, the sills are good and I've bought new stainless bumpers, really need some seats now as I need to finish the floor and need the seats fitted in place just in case I need to weld any supports.

I've been making some good progress on the car, hopefully I'll have it finished in 3 weeks.

What a great car this is going to turn out to be.  Wonderful engine to have in it too.  You're a lucky guy.

Yes, I'm please with the way it's going. I sometimes wish I'd get someone else to do some work on it, especially after spending 2 days wet flatting the primer, but still the end result will be worth it.
Another job I'm doing at the moment, is making up a polished stainless exhaust.
