WTB - 38/38 dgas weber carby ( the Capri v6 carby)

Hi all,

As the topic says, I'm chasing a 38/38 dgas carby as per the v6 Capri. I have a European spec one, but it has no return line, which I fear may cause fuel pressure issues.

If anyone has one they would like to sell, please let me know.

Use the one you have.  The lack of a return line wont cause you any problems.  I have run them like this on several cars.

    Make it go FASTER!

    Thanks Gdub,

Ill give it a go and see how it works. I also have a post up in the technical section (just updated it) relating to some hoses etc and where they should all go,

Putting this new carby on will obviously change things here as there is a hose off the current carby that will no longer have a home (not including the return line)

These are nice carbs, you can fit them on a stock manifold with a stock aircleaner and no one will know. Gdubs right don't worry about the return line. Fuel pressure should be ok with a standard pump, or you can use an electric rated at 3 - 4psi aswell as a regulator to get it spot on. Had great success when I used one, lol I love playing with webers...... if you need a 'baseline' idea of jetting I have it written down somewhere.....

    thanks guys,

I will definitely give this a go. I've heard the benefits are instant and noticeable!.

Im hoping someone will help out with the emissions thread I have going to see if I can get all those hoses worked out and it should run a lot better then.

Drewdog, if you could send over the jetting information that would be great. At the moment the engine is standard, but it will soon be swapped for a cammed motor with head work, bored etc.......

    Cheers

Dave, why are you bothering with setting up the stock carbie when you'll have to go through all this again with the 38/38?

    Just stick it on now

oddly enough I was sitting at work this afternoon, gazing out at the lovely afternoon thinking that exact same thing.

So, home I came ( a little early ), and fitted her up. I cant drive it yet (no brakes or rego), but certainly an immediate throttle response change!.
