Please be aware that your springs must ALWAYS be retained by the strut ie the spring cannot be allowed to fall out of the strut top/bottom spring mount even when there is no weight on them.
If you jack your car up or put it on a hoist and the springs fall out of position then it shouldnt pass rego and can be defected.
This is something the RTA/mechanics check because it is dangerous if the spring falls out while driving.
For example if you are travelling at speed and go over a bump/crest and the weight of the car is taken off the springs and they fall out then you can guess what happens next.
Lowered springs may require a shock insert with less travel to prevent loosing a spring at the wrong time.
