2lt Pinto Valve stem seals, suit double valve spring with shallow height like originals

Hi All,

Was really wanting to get my Escort on the road for a drive on Sunday but cannot find valve stem seals that fit without A. Rubbing against inner valve spring or B. being to high and spring retainer hitting the top of it at full cam lift.

I've attached pics to show Left to Right: A seal I sourced today to try (still to high), OEM Seal from Felpro kit, Seal that was fitted to head of unknown origin (has had the head pushed through but I put it back in place for pic to show height).

What do people use in this scenario?

Would really like to source something tomorrow so I can fix it Saturday.

Cheers,
Rhys

Maxrs, I followed it up and Ive been told they wont work as they're diffrrent type of seal. Also found a post of yours with datto 1600 mentioned but they are too tall.

Just got some Rover V8 ones to try.
But my ears still open for ideas.

    Thanks,
    Rhys

I use the ones pictured in the middle (which looks like a Felpro), just trim the lip off with a razor blade.  Never been a problem for me

    Hi Matt75 and Woz,

Thanks for your help, I have gone with that idea and used the Felpro ones. I was just initially worried about making them weaker but if it works then great!

    Cheers,
    Rhys
