G'day all,
With the weather turning for the better here in Perth I thought it was about time to pull the old girl out of the dads garage, dust her off and head out for the first show of the season. Went to the Rock and rumble festival held by telethon at our local showgrounds. Great event full of live rockabilly bands, vintage markets and a show of about 100+ cars. We were the only small Ford there but had alot of interest and spoke to good people all day.
I've made a pledge to get my head out of the garage and start using the car a bit more. Shes about to clock over 34000km so I'll try to make it to 36000 before the end of summer...
Cheers Drew.

Took the old girl out for a run to the Jaguar concourse today, not exactly Pebble beach but Sir James Mitchell reserve on the Swan River.
Parked the Cortina up with the other cars much to the dismay of a few jag owners, all was forgotten though when they worked out I'm the parks superintendent and will be deciding whether they get their bond back on monday
Lots of nice cars out for the day and we had fun saying 'zjag-uwar' in our best english voices...
Cheers Drew

Yeah most of the car clubs are pretty good, at the end of the day they're all real 'car guys' and appreciate all marques and the effort it takes to get them there. We do a few car shows through out the year, I never thought i'd see the day when I dropped the tools and took on some event management (weddings are a chore though)
A bit of banter always helps break the ice, I meet with the Porsche club every year and open with 'So you're from the VW owners club' he knows me now and always asks how my 'Gemini' is going
Cheers Drew

I once said on RSMotorsport forum that MK1 escorts look similar to LJ toranas. Which ruffled a few feathers lol
Nice MK3 by the way ;D

good to see the old girl out and about and flying the small Ford flag. Glad you told us it is a TD, I immediately thought it was a TC. Still looks good. Len

Thanks guys, its a bit forgotten about over winter living in Dads garage, nice to have it out again for the sunny, dry days...
Had a bit of a problem with one of the front brake calipers sticking on from time to time so bit the bullet and did the lot, calipers, rear cylinders, hoses, disks and drums (kept the old stuff) It never ceases to amaze me, for a 41 year old car I found a paper part tag still on the clutch cable and more paint smears on the calipers and drums, yellow for TD 6cyl general production. Had some spare paint laying about so I've put the smears back on for the hell of it. Also got a pic of the tailshaft and yoke while I was under there...
Cheers Drew
