Our Td Cortina.......
Heres a some pics of our old 'tina....... Its a 200ci four speed, found with just 26000k's and still on it's original goodyear crossply's. all of the paint smears are still there along with heaps quality control and parts tags. I've changed the tyres (kept old ones on rims) and rebuilt the brake system. Otherwise I've just been slowly detailing it top to bottom in my man cave

Cheers, I wasn't looking for a car at the time but bought it there and then for a fair price, it wasn't until we got it home, looked at the paper work, checked it out at the department of transport and went all over it we relized it was a good survivor. Its up to 31000k's now, I do drive it to keep her 'regular' gotta admit though I am quite wary but everyone still smiles and waves at me as I gently get up to speed ..........

G'day all, having a weekend off from the Escort, spent the day getting old 'Tina ready for winter so I thought I'd update the thread......... Changed all the oils, coolant and brake fluid, seems mundane but we find the general maintenance of a car like this really enjoyable, much easier than a resto, after that we went for a magic cruise down the W.A. coast, listening to 'golden oldies' on AM radio with my old man singing along all the way. Even got the thumbs up from a policeman, probably not for Dads singing though Whilst the wheels were off we got a few pics of the mechanical paint smears, red and yellow represent TD general production, green for borg warner........ Theres a fair few more on the car, tailshaft, front springs etc, if anyones restoring I'm happy to sent some high res pics to help get your job right....... In the meantime she'll be started once a week until the spring cruising season arrives............

Hey SaggaRS, thanks for the sneak peak of that Yellow RS nosecone on your profile, but I need to keep focused It's dated 5/75, a late TD facelift with the plastic grille and round headlights, but the last of the pre pollution crossflows... She's in good hands,... and garage now, I wanted to get the old boy an Anglia for retirement, but he seems to have taken to 'Tina like one of the family.................

Hello all... Spending way too much time on the RS so I thought I'd take a break and give old 'Tina some time before the summer cruising season.... The old boys been keeping her started over winter so just oil, coolant, a brake bleed and dusting was needed. With that I took my dodgey chrome aviaters out of their ford case, forgot about all my worldly worries and went for a drive down the coast, ahhhh.... I've got to be careful now, I can't get enough of looking at the power bulge in the bonnet and would drive her every day but will allow myself 3000km this summer to take the clock up to 35000. Stoked, let the summer days and cricket on AM radio roll on

I've been plain Drew for a while now, we lost our old collie a few months back aged 16, I picked her up as a pup in my Escort. The mrs works weekends so she was my cruising buddy..... Moving on though we thought we'd get one to match the car this time.... Introducing Scarlet, a ginger border collie. We've got her started early and bought her home in the old 'tina on the weekend...... She's got to learn some car manners yet but heres to many a sunday cruise Cheers Drewdog.............

.....And then the water pump went............. Brought old 'tina out of the garage for some fun in the sun over the long weekend, second day of driving around looking cool and the old girl got ill, dribbling coolant on the ground....... The water pumps just started leaking, not bad after 39 years.... Found a new one cheaply, they're a falcon part, ordering new thermo housing, hoses and thinking about a new/ recon radiator while we're at it, even though it'll mean no budget for the RS for a week or two..... Cheers Drewdog............

It's been stunning weather here in perth for the last couple of weekends so we've decided to bring old 'Tina out of hibernation for some fun. I listed it for sale a few weeks back with the possibility of a new project on the horizon. I'm glad it fell through now, it would of left a BIG hole in our garage.... That and we picked the new pup to match the car.... She's been trained up in the falcon over winter and has picked up perfect car manners. With the mrs working on weekends she's turning out to be a great cruising buddy Cheers Drew........
