    Hi Matte,
I got mine done by Otto instruments in Brisbane.
Benifits are;  smooth and accurate operation., the last thing you want when reving a high performance essex is a tacho that is telling you lies.
    Tacho looks absolutely standard.
Debits; the cost is about $200.

    Paul, Hotboost
I just used a taco adaptor from MSD, converts your digital signal (pulse output) of your new electrinic ignition to a current driven output to suite your original taco input (coil signal). I had to use one with my MDS 6AL2 fully digital programable igntion worked a treat. Taco is rock stable and ignition is really strong and good. MSD part number is 8920.

    G'Day,
I used to run a Lumenition Optical setup on my 2lt. The pickup from coil still ran Tacho fine on an RS dash.

    Hotboost,
2lt_Scort would be correct in his comment on the lumenition coil connection, with that system you would use the standard type coil and connections, as your taco signal is taken from the  negative side of your coil it should just work for you. I on the other hand  can not do this because my MSD setup switch's the coil independent of the 12v ignition circuit, hence I needed to place the taco adaptor in the original loom, the adaptor mimics the original coil negative signal and behaves like it  is hooked into a standard Capri ignition/coil setup. So my standard taco sees a current pulse and not a voltage pulse. The taco adaptor is triggered by the voltage pulse output from my MSD 6AL2 Programable ignition box.

Well fired up in the car works but it'd about 1000 rpm out . Is there a way of fine tuning it to drop down rpm .
