Id be interested to know what the gearing is like with the 4.4 up back?
Is it a 5 speed, or a 4?

JET-6 Good work on the diff,I just got some info on hilux diffs and was either going down the hilux or courier diff route my self. What we need to find out for sure is up to what year this width changes if at all,I would also be going for 3.9-4.1 LSD,depending on whats available. It seem like a easy conversion and will machine the axles up at work as well,May as well do a disk convserion while your there,I will be. I also wonder if the mazda vans E2000? and Ford Econovans share the same/similar diff housing as these are a dime a dozen in wreckers now. MMMMMMMMMMMMM. Thanks David

More new to come, dont worry im not giving up just the house and my daily driver come 1st!

my stock ecky diff is gonna blow out any day now so if any one in adelaide can hook me up with a diff that requires little or minor work and will take the power of my kick ass engine that still scares me! the ford couier and mazda bravo have to low ratio but really at this stage i can't be too picky [xx(]

The semi floating hubs are very strong, the bearing is retained in the hub and has no fluid conection to the centre at all, it full encased in packed grease!!!!!

Wait and see!
how are you going with the diff fitting ???????? any luck? i've noticed on the magazine articles section the supercharger rs has a hilux diff......... and that would have to be putting out more power than my 1.8 turbo

Oh oh oh oh oh - The fat kid up the back raises his hand! I was in Tassie recently and saw a Mk 1 Escort with a Courier diff onboard! The owner was running standard Courier drums, which were HUGE, and told me that the spring plates did not need modifying. I asked if he had narrowed the tubes, and he replied NO! It was a straight bolt in deal, and all he needed was the following; 1 - Courier tailshaft flange on the Escort tailshaft 2 - new brake lines 3 - modified handbrake 4 - redrilled drums for the 4 stud pattern Here is a happy snap of the car running 17inch rims. The diff looked 'natural' under the Mk 1's bum, with no sign of extra width! Can anyone guess what engine it's running?[:u] Download Attachment: Escort front.JPG44.79 KB I am looking into a deal like this for my Mk 1 Cortina. Hope this helps. Racin Jason

Nigel, still toying with things, havent picked up the MK2 brakes yet so ive been working on setting up the 5 speed and a few other bits and peices, you know me
Can start on the second axles till im happy with the braking setup on the 1st, so ill make a few calls and round up a MK2 to pull apart
