Mk1 Escort and Mk2 Cortina Struts tops interchangeable?

Hi is the strut top from a Mk1 Escort usable on a Mk2 Cortina and Vice Versa?

    I'm fairly confident they are interchangeable, just after confirmation?

    Yes, you just need to watch the shaft size on the shocker, but they do interchange
