1 x Escort old school minilite / contessa

Hi Guys

I have 3 only old school minilites / contessa's that I think are 13 x 6 inch with about 120 mm from the hub to inside the back of the rim

I know they are not the best rims but want to finish the set ,I still need to find 1 more , can anyone help with 1 only rim ?

I am in SA

Cheers Craig

If they are the 13 x 6 rims that are common out here (but not superlights), they are probably Contessas.

You can try Steve (Mk1RS2000) on the rsm site as I know he had some of these. You are most likely going to have to buy a set and be happy to have extra spares.

If they are the factory 2 piece rim (I think they were 5's or maybe 5.5's), they are just the factory sport mag, not much chop, good for hanging hoses on in the garden.

Post a pic and I am sure you will get a correct ID.

    Cheers

I just sold a set of 4 and a set of 3 13x6 contessa's on ebay a few months ago.

    Bad timing ...

OK thats not a contessa, its one of those dreaded factory things.

2 piece, steel rim welded to an alloy centre. From memory, even heavier than a standard steel rim.

If you own anything faster than a 1100 cc pushrod escort with a single downdraft stromberg.......I would choose another wheel.

They were an option on GT1300 (and probably Aussie Twin Cams as well as Capris.

I have seen these for $50 to $80 for a set at swaps, might be worth putting a set aside if your car was optioned with them (for when you sell the car).

If you must have minilite style rims I would seriously go for either Contessas or Superlights (both have better offsets and will look heaps better on nearly anything with a Ford badge.

There are plenty of good looking period rims for small fords, Rostyle's?, pommy RS alloys (2 sets on ebay at mo), Globe Bathursts, I could go on.......

    Cheers
