Thanks to GDUB & PMR the Racing harness is in and a prop shaft bracket is in place.

Few pics of harness.

Cheers,

Looking good Matt. Generally when you have a bit of length in the shoulder straps it's a good idea to cross them over. Just my 2cents.

I have signed up for a Track Day at Sandown on the 13th October so just getting a few things sorted.

This is the weekend before the 6 Hour at Winton so fingers crossed nothing goes wrong.

I have added the tow points to the front and rear as well as a tailshaft bracket.

The front is an original GDub design.

Cheers

Well, had the first track day at Sandown last Sunday with mixed results.  The big plus was the car was awesome and had no issues at all besides squealing front right brakes on left handers.

The downer was I managed to run into one of my team mates (Daz) when he spun in front of me on turn 2. I tried to go round the outside but as it was very wet, he ended up backwards and I couldn't get out of the way.

Anyway, a bit of roadside repair and all is good.

I'm off to Winton this weekend for the AROCA 6 Hour (with a slight ripple finish) so fingers crossed I stay out of everyone's way.   The weather is for mid to high 20's so rain won't be an issue.

Here's footage of the 2nd session with the crash happening at 9m25secs.

And the damage sustained

I needed a new tyre as the guard cut up the old one but after some persuading with a 4wd winch it doesn't rub now so I'll be fine for this weekend and I have been onto SMCKA and the repair panel is on it's way so shouldn't be too hard to repair.

Cheers

Matt

Really sorry to see that Matt. Hope the next event is much less painless! Much damage to your mates car?

Car looks nicely balanced in the photo.

Tar's for getting there. Dirt's for racing!

Not too fussed guys.  It's all a learning experience.  It should be a relatively easy fix.

The car felt great and even though the tyres were still cold I had plenty of confidence in the car.  Was very stable and predictable.

Fingers crossed for a great weekend.

Cheers

That's the right attitude :)

In the end it's a 4 door shell and built for the purpose of racing. Have fun!

Had a great weekend at Winton for the 6 hour relay with the club.  Our team "Escorts by the Hour" came in 29th out of 49 teams so we were pretty happy though I am pretty sure my inexperience cost us more than a few places.

The race bug has well and truly bitten so i am looking at doping regular Sprint events next year.

Here's a few pics from the weekend courtesy of SMCKA who was our sponsor for the event.

Cheers,

Matt

Few more pics after the race had been finished we all lined up down pit lane.

The other team we had was called "SMCKA MY RS" as it was only red RS2000's

Cheers

Been a while since I've updated but things have been progressing.

I got the damage fixed up from the Sandown Accident and painted it all this weekend and put new stickers on.

I've ordered a 3J LSD and a roll cage from Bond and the race engine will hopefully be finished sometime early next year.

I'm also in the midst of a power steering conversion too so that should be fun.

Cheers,

Matt
