More progress ... Its all been rubbed down again today and then had the buff run over it and then some polish. I then started dismantling my green car so i could put the front end in. New coil overs, Bilstein competition inserts, adjustable tops, Kmac 22mm bar with adjustable caster. Brakes are BMW E30 rotors with Volvo 4 spots and long wheel studs. It should be sitting on its wheels again tomorrow. And my motor ...

Busy day today ... Its back on 4 wheels for the first time in months! Engine fitted, alloy bellhousing fitted, gearbox would have been in but i am waiting for some redline shockproof oil for the rocket box which is due in tomorrow. If all goes to plan it should be running in the next few days. Last week of holidays! Here is the update pics.

Thanks Lincoln.
That motor isnt the Frank built one. Im keeping that as a spare. This is the motor i built 18 months ago with forgies, h-beam rods and a ton of headwork.
This way all the running gear will be the same as was in my MK2 so i can see how much i gain from the 100kg weight saving. The MK2 was heavy, weighed 980kg without me in it!

I dont have a choice really on that one. Being on the committee for RSOCV pretty much means my only option is SFS.
I spoke to bluey last week and he is taking his car to SFS also and skipping the first round of the FPV season.
My car will look pretty much ready but i am waiting for a new set of leaf springs to be made and then i have to fit the watts linkage so it isnt ready for track duty yet.
See you at SFS ...

Project update ....
Fired it up today! I have only driven it up onto the trailer so i can take it for an exhaust in the morning.
Got a new set of Toyo R888's being fitted tomorrow also (thanks Pete, Ross @ tyrepower Knox really looked after me)
Then i have to get the twin cam dash working, refit the windows and a heap of other little stuff. My alloy radiator should be ready late next week and the RS stripes should be on it (hopefully) before SFS
Now it really feels like i have got somewhere

Exhaust is now done and my 13x7 sonic lite wheels are on with a new set of Toyo R888 rubber.
Windows will go in over the weekend and the alloy radiator should be by the end of next week.
Not really happy with how high it sits at the front and i have the coil overs adjusted as low as i can. Might have to get some 8" long springs from SMCKA.

Glass is in Wheels and tyres are on and it sounds just like the green car did now the exhaust has been made. With such a nice sunny day i couldnt resist the opportunity to get it outside and get some pics with our yellow MK2 RS.
