Thanks Peter. The radiator worked out well, the top tank was stuffed on mine so they were able to make use of the one you gave me.

Thanks. All was set for the exhaust today but the battery had other ideas. High comp 2L killed it very quickly. I have replaced it with a Century 360CCA, ultra high performance. The cables I had been using were about 16mm2. Too small for the bosch starter!! So now there's 25mm2 cables run in with the 16's, soldered together into 35mm2 lugs. It's made a massive difference to the cranking. I highly advise anyone with a pinto to check the cable sizes and go for at least 35mm2. These pinto starters need a lot of current.

Exhaust is done but the pivot spacer for clutch needs to be removed. Other than that, the car pulls like a 767

haha, naa. Just a blue plate eh. Any more engine mods will require brake and suspension upgrades which i'm not interested in doing right now. I'll just drive and enjoy for a while. Thanks

Cheers Mark. I've been waiting 2 weeks for a helicoil kit to arrive (2 x bellhousing threads are stuffed). I'm hoping it will be here today. A nice drive over Clear Mountain will be the first thing I do!

Thanks Scott :D If I went down that route I would start fresh with another engine. Someone has spent a great deal of $$$ getting this one built properly. It would be a shame to undo all that hard work.

The gearbox went in last night (with some deliberation ), thanks to my mate G for the help. He rarely sees grease let alone wriggles through it on a shed floor! An early friday finish allowed me to fit clutch cable, speedo cable, starter motor and drive shaft. I've had it out on the streets and yeah, it's taking some getting used to :D
