Haydn's MK1

Here's some pics of the escort I bought a couple of months back. It had been owned by the same person for 40 years and I feel very fortunate to be the proud new owner. So far I have made a few small changes with some 13" dragway rims and sumitomo tyres, mountney woodgrain steering wheel, shaved antenna hole, rolled guards, new seat covers, fixed up electrics in the doors and indicators. Installed an alarm & some audio using the factory cut-outs in the body (rear mounted and stood off 4" MTX coaxials behind the vents and 8" free-air sub on the rear parcel shelf).

I have also bought a Kent 711M engine in great running condition. Plans are to bolt on a single side draft weber and lynx manifold, pacemaker headers and 2" zorst.

Some lovells will be going onto my front struts early next week and the leafs will be reset to match.

The vinyl roof is STAYING! i love it [^]
Some crappy phone pics..

Thanks! Yep, plan is to get it low asap. I have a pair of MK2 2L struts. Might just reset the coils by 3" and chuck em in. I'm sure it'll bottom out here and there but I won't be driving it like a rally car

Thanks celtic. Yes it's all original except the colour. The owner had it repainted about 20 years ago. It was originally more of a mustard colour and she wanted a canary yellow. But it's not quite canary, still has a hint of mustard. I bought a GT stripe kit for it before I picked it up but when I saw the trim around the wheels and doors I knew it was much better to keep them on and scrap the GT stripe idea lol. So there's 2 rolls for sale if anyone's looking. Quality Avery brand, $40 for both rolls.

It has a 2 dial dash and the badge is escort "super"

    Great find Haydn.
Not many MK1's left with all the exterior chrome still intact.
    Have fun with it.

Yes the vents fit back in..look at pic 5. The speakers were spaced off the back of the panel for this very reason

I'm going to mate the engine with my auto box and see how it goes..
