That's looking very neat. Well done. And fingers crossed its all smooth sailing from here.
I'm very interested to hear how it goes with the single sidedraft on there. I am thinking of doing the same kinda setup on my 1600. Let us know how it goes once you get it out on the road.

Thanks a lot. Well it all went very well this evening. I've had it out for 2 runs. The power difference from the 1300 to 1600 is so much fun! And it really does sound great. Because the kickdown cable is buggered I've been shifting with the T Bar surprisingly no problems and I like it because I have control over the revs in each gear (except first to second which is automatically shifted by the transmission)
The temperature is all good, no oil leaks, no funny noises. So all that's really left to do now is re-adjust the tappets when it's hot and put on the ram tubes which should be here this week. Then it's just drive and enjoy [8)]

Cheers Timmy. Yeah I've been driving it heaps, it's hard to resist I ended up having to send the ram tubes back to Weber on Thursday because my DCOE has unusual auxillary venturis that won't allow the tubes to fit. So I've used a slimmer K&N filter instead (44mm wide compared to the 51mm redline)

G'day. Here's a couple of snaps of the engine all finished for now. As mentioned previously, the kickdown cable needs replacing at some stage preferably with a stainless one so it won't melt again lol. But the car works fine without it just using the T-bar. And a little bit of rust repair still needed below the heater bubble. For the rest of it (which wasn't that bad) I used a wire brush & 3M rust converter then touched it up with some yellow acrylic. It's all running great, I noticed there's a lot more odour with the breather cap and PCV line running to the atmosphere. But the look, sound and power improvements have made it all worthwhile [8)]

Got these bolted on a few days ago. I should have ignored the poor advice I was given about 15's and put these on instead of the dragways. Expensive lesson, but anyhow I'm happy with the look now. Next will be some 15" chrome dress rings from autobarn. $23 each OUCH

Thanks Mark. I can never get a decent pic of the passenger side for some reason! Great to see you have the RS rolling again, congrats!

Yeh I wish you sold it to me [}:)] You can have two cups. One to wish in, One to 5hit in. See which one fills up first? I am interested to see what the 195/45/15's are like on the road. $65 each is cheap.

So did you grab a set??? Who can turn down a great tyre size at that price. I asked the fella at Wanli and he told me they comply with Australian standards etc. I have no complaints about them so far. Another bonus is that the 195/45/15 is only 4mm bigger in diameter than the standard 155/80/12 tyres, keeping things legal. The only thing that could be picked on is the rim diameter being more than 2" bigger but saying my esky came with 13's as standard is a story most ppl would believe! Here's a pic from today
