Cheers mate. Good things take time right? :) I've tested the front suspension. Definitely a softer spring and has improved the handling dramatically.

Yep no worries. I use them with helper springs which come in the HSD sleeve kit. No arms sorry lol. I have cleared away a lot of parts to make room, now that I have 2 esky's on the go :) Have you tried these guys? They have a bit of selection with steering arms http://www.motorsport-too...esult/?q=steering+arms

The car just keeps getting better :) They might be common but superlites are popular for a reason. Big thanks to macka for the wheel deal. A colour coded chin spoiler is also on the to-do list

Hi guys, Well a few developments over the past few weeks. I visited Dunedin for the Otago rally a couple of weeks ago with my son which was a blast. Got to see some red hot rally action. Hayden Paddon and Alister McRae being the biggest highlights in their RS1800's! And back home I finally got my 185 60 13's fitted to the 13x7 JBW minilites. I put them on my MK1 to see if they'd fit which they do, perfectly! And the car's handling has improved again. Faster acceleration due to less weight and less rolling diameter, and lighter, more responsive steering. The 13x6 205 combo is on the MK2 to get it through the road worthy inspection (at some stage) then it will get lowered and I'll see how the 13x7's look on it. It might be hard to part them from my MK1! A new motor has been built by Peter Baguley (Performance Thumpers Escorts) for the MK1. Some pretty gnarly specs on it and will see close to 140RWHP at around 6500 The current 2L will be going into the MK2 mated to the automatic which will make for a fun cruiser. I'm also looking for an HD clutch that's road friendly. There's one on the new motor but it's an uncushioned 4 puck button clutch which I think will be awful on the road. So shoot me a PM if anyone has one spare. Cheers

Woo hoo. That new motor should get the Mk1 moving nicely! A few of my mates were also over in NZ for Otago. Did you notice the red Gemini coupe with Maxxis tyre stickers? He's an old Escort campaigner from way back but bought the Gemini over there to run the event.
Tar's for getting there. Dirt's for racing!
