Burtons stock concentric tops made by GRP4.

I've got non-concentric tops with rubber bushing and spherical bearing from GRP4 and can vouch for their build quality. The owner, Thorsten, also doesn't mind imparting a bit of advice on strut top choice either!

Aussie options (k-mac and noltec) are quite pricey imho...

It's funny you should suggest them. These are the tops I've been leaning towards

As it turns out, Burtons are $60 cheaper! Thanks for the advice.

And yes I agree, $450 a pair for stage 2 Kmacs is a bit steep. I will be getting my swaybar from them though

Great stuff, good to see it progressing.

You could also get a spacer kit for the M16's and then you can fitted vented rotors.

You can get them from SMCKA for $50.00.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Peter.
Cheaper again! Thanks
Matt
yep seen the spacer kits around. Not really worth it for my car. And I'm making an effort to keep all mods legal. Cheers

Sorry to hijack, but as we are on the topic

For those pondering, the MP179 listed by burtons is manufactured by GRP4. The prices from burtons and GRP4 direct are exactly the same (once VAT has been removed from the burton web price). Make sure your get the right collar set with these tops aswell (purchased seperately)!! You will get 4 pieces (2 sets of collars). One set is placed through the central bearing from the underside and the other one is placed through the bearing from the top.

Be warned, these will raise the height of the front end on a mk2 by 25mm! I have witnessed this myself on my own car. So plan for that - otherwise an excellent bit of gear!

Bearing and seal kit all fitted and packed, minus split pins :)  Thanks to Jamie @ Component Restorations for his help and advice.
Next job is assembling and fitting the struts to determine threaded sleeve position.
