Burtons

I buy from burtons all the time, first class service and very reliable. Ordered a set of Ashley extractore and an inlet manifold on a Monday evening, and I couldnt believe it, they were delivered to my door at 9.30 am on the Friday morning.

I got the Ashley exhaust (really nice set of pipes) and the inlet manifold for the twin Webers in the one package. Total cost for both items was $712.61 delivered to my door. The inlet manifold was around $200 of that. The Australian dollar is buying even better since then.

    Ian,
The engine is only sitting in the car as a dummy fit at the moment. When I get everything where I want it in the engine bay I will pull the engine out and rebuild the whole thing.
As I work on weekends during the footy season I dont get anytime to work on the car.
So that being the case I expect that it will be late in the year before it finally fires up.
I am in no hurry, its an ongoing project that has been going for 4 1/2 years already

It good to have a project. I want to get mine running around the middle of the year.

I had a look on burtons for the manifold. Could you confirm the part number please.

    Ashley exhaust manifold ASHM06
    Inlet Manifold SC500

anything else you need to know just ask, I have also bought off them, Kent vernier cam pulleys, timing belt tensioner, oil filler cap, thermostat housing, plus other pinto parts in the past. never had a problem with them. If you want one of there catalogues, just send them an email, they will send you one free. Its got everything in it

For the guys doing N/A YB's do yourself a favour llok at pipes other than the Ashley's as they are very poorly designed with rather bad restriction on cylinder 3. at the join to the flange. That and the fact that they are too small for anything serious. You are better off getting a set custom made to suit your own particular engine or go and look up the likes of Simpson or Tony Law pipes both in the UK who do off the shelf pipes of a far better quality.

    Danny

Ps, the other thing is try to use a head that hasn't been skimmed otherwise you'll be restricted to what size inlet valves you can use

nice to hear somebody with positives about burtons. we are having major issues with them at the moment. sending stuff nice and fast. think too fast as they are sending the wrong parts! latest is we got the wrong flywheel...
