Well after what seems like an eternity, not working on the Escort i have finaly done some more[:I], I have finaly Made up gearbox crossmember, It has taken 6 months so decide how to do it and half a day to actualy make it up.[}:)] It is sitting 30mm below the chassis rail and 15mm below the bell housing. i am hoping it wont be hanging down to much. should be about the same height as the exaust. I have been doing final preperations to weld in the new tunnel and fire wall also. If all goes according to plan i should get it all welded in on Sunday,[:u] I will post some pictures then if i can find my camera [:p] I do have a good excuse for not working on my toy by the way, I have been planing and organising and saving my wedding in november, [:u][:u][:u]so i have been a bit busy and not just being slack.[:x)]

I see yours is coming along to. great to see. i was worried that it might get put into the back of a shed when it first happened.[xx(] How it the 24mm sway bar on the track? I might have to get one at that price. I hope to have mine going before christmas but wont be totaly finished for a while after that. I will definantly be at SFS 2007 with the car, finished or not. [:x)][:x)] Might even have my other RS done by then to as the body work is almost finished i think.[:p][:p]. Brizey. This one will be white, something similar to the BA falcon white. I dont want it to be a bright color, I want it to blend in as much as posible.

It will sit 30mm below the chassis rail and utilise the original supra gearbox rubber. Fire wall fitted and tacked into place jsut waiting for a little more time fully weld it in and then seal it up with stickaflex and body deadner. I have a RHS bender, grinder, welder and drill press and have the use of a sheet metal bender. The RHS bender is a great thing and I use it for almost everything.

David that gearbox xmember looks like it has stepped straight out of the factory. Almost expected to see fomoco stamped on it! well done.
Just a question about your hoppers brake kit, did you bolt the kit onto Capri struts, if so, did the kit differ at all from the Escort kit? And was there any additional cost?
cheers, nigel

The caliper mounting bolts are a different size and the hubs are obviously different also to suit the Capri stub axel. The are the same price as for the Escort. every thing else is the same.

I will hopfully get a pic of the bender tomorrow arvo. Well the fire wall and trans tunnel are welded in and finished. I have worked out and test fitted the stering shaft and uni's and it all fits in a treat. Just have to mount my end bearing, fit everything up and get the end of the steering shaft replined to suit the uni. I have refitted the headers and it is looking like i will have to remake most of the header pipes again[8~2][8~2][8~2][8~2] Oh well, everything is fitted now so this will be the last time. I hope to get the car in, to get a sump made for the motor this week, Then it will be on the forward march to get it back together and running.[:p][:p]

Should be all tacked up by the end of the week for me to test fit i hope. I have almost finished the pasenger side headers again and have one more primary pipe on the drivers side to totaly remake. Still moving forward.[:p][:p]
